RIGeL warmly congratulates Henna Kapoor (WG Prof. Klaus Grasser/Cell Biology & Plant Biochemistry) for the second place in the Research Pitch Contest of the Compostela Group of Universities!

In her video Teamwork for the contest Henna explains her research on the interaction between two elongation factors in the RNA polymerase in Arabidopsis thaliana. The jury found that her good scientific language and illustration with examples clearly points out the “potential benefits” of genetically modified organism (GMO) “so that it can contribute to ‘reducing the fear’ of GMO”.

The Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) was established in 1994 and includes members form more than 60 universities across the world. The Compostela Group of Universities aims to foster collaboration and promote dialogue in all fields related to Higher Education. The members are convinced that diversity and multiculturalism are key elements of university and academic life.

The Research Pitch Contest of the CGU was carried out for the fifth time.

RIGeL is really happy about Hennas motivation and engagement also beside of her research project! We hope that with her contribution in the contest and award she can motivate other PhD students to think outside the box.
