This year’s Tag der Biowissenschaften took place in a festive ceremony on the 10th of July. Faculty members, students and PhD students visited the event, where Master and PhD certificates have been awarded to the graduates of the Faculty. After the short welcoming speech of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ernst Tamm and the vice president of the University, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Weber, the PhD Prizes have been awarded to Dr. Anne Dueck (Biochemistry I) and Dr. Stefanie Klampfl (Department of Behavioral and Molecular Neurobiology) in recognition of their outstanding scientific research achievements in their PhD theses. RIGeL also congratulates them on their excellent performance!

The laureates gave a short presentation on their PhD topics followed by a coffee break in a relaxed atmosphere in the foyer of the new Biology building. After the short break the keynote lecture was given by Prof. Dr. Reinhard Fässler from the MPI for Biochemistry, Martinsried on “Genetic analysis of integrin signaling in mice and cells”.

The event concluded with a delicious buffet in the late afternoon. The musical background of the event was provided by the University Jazz Combo.
