WIN workshop - How to Get into the German Job Market!
How to Get into the German Job Market! A Workshop for International Post-Docs and Doctoral Candidates
For international PhD-holders in Germany, it is a challenge to know how to get into the non-academic job market. Maybe it is not clear what you can or want to do beyond academia? Maybe you have a reduced network or you do not know about the “hidden” access routes?
In this workshop, specially tailored for the needs of internationals, you will:
- gain clarity about your own profile (expertise, values, motivations, priorities, constraints) and learn to present this briefly and convincingly to others
- get insights into possible fields of work that match you and your profile
- acquire methods for testing out options before you actually “make the leap” and become empowered to start to ‘prototype’
- learn from case-studies of other international PhDs who have successfully landed non-academic job in Germany
- create an individual action plan to implement and keep on track with straight after the workshop
It is absolutely key to start planning and “prototyping” earlier rather than later!
This intensive 2-day spurt accompanied by a specialized careers coach and a group of (international) peers will empower and motivate you to find your new path and be proactive! The workshop is interactive and builds up dynamically - for this reason you must block these two-days in your diary and make sure you can be fully present for the whole workshop duration.
