On October 23, our former RIGeL PhD student Tobias Wallner visited us and talked about his career after completing his doctorate.
Tobias Wallner did his PhD at the Institute of Zoology with a project on ant research. He graduated in 2021.
During his PhD he attended the Pharmaakademie's GxP course, which helped him land his first job as a recruiting manager at K-Recruiting Life Sciences. During this time, he also trained at the Pharmaakademie in a 7-month course to become a Clinical Research Associate. Since July 2024, Tobias has been working as a Clinical Research Associate at ICON plc.
In his presentation, Tobias provided insight into his daily work and processes, explained the entry opportunities in this field in more detail, but also candidly described the stresses and high level of responsibility involved.
After the lecture, PhD students and students had the opportunity to engage in more in-depth conversation with Tobias over a relaxed dinner at Unikat.
We would like to thank Tobias for visiting us and giving such an interesting talk and wish him all the best in his future career.
