WIN workshop - Peer Coaching for Doctoral Researchers

Peer Coaching for Doctoral Researchers

Doing a doctorate often means navigating recurring challenges like uncertainty in the research process, the pressure of juggling multiple roles and responsibilities, or questions around communication and collaboration with supervisors.

In this workshop, you'll be introduced to the method of peer coaching. This is a structured, solution-focused format that allows you to discuss current challenges with fellow doctoral researchers, to gain new perspectives and develop concrete ideas for action. Guided by an experienced facilitator, the process takes place in a professional and supportive environment.

The workshop comprises four sessions: In the first session, you'll get to know each other, become familiar with the peer coaching format, and reflect on what you personally would like to explore or clarify. In the following meetings, you'll discuss two real-life cases per session. These are brought in by participants from their own academic or professional experience.

Bring your own topics, gain clarity, discover new approaches - and build strong, supportive networks along the way!

Participants of this workshop will be able to

  • work together to find tailored solutions to current challenges and issues in their doctoral project,
  • connect with other doctoral researchers, benefit from their experiences and perspectives and build lasting networks at their university,
  • explore their own working style and professional habits and use peer coaching as a tool for learning and development.
